On 3/25/24 at 1700 hours, Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on an older pickup on North Miller Lp. Rd. in Nikiski for an equipment violation and after recognizing the driver who has a revoked license. The vehicle failed to stop for approximately 5 miles before turning into a residence off Alexander Rd. in Nikiski. Upon contact the driver, Joshaua Robert Paul Peterson, 32 of Nikiski, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle with a Revoked License (W/Prior Conviction), No Insurance, Violating his Conditions of Release (on a felony charge), Fail to Stop for LEO 2nd, and Reckless Driving. Peterson was transported and remanded at Wildwood pretrial without bail.

On March 23, 2024, at 4:00am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a suspicious vehicle/trespass complaint at a private residence in Sterling. Troopers responded and located Doc Curtis, age 53 of Anchorage, sleeping in the vehicle. Investigation revealed Curtis was on probation for manufacturing methamphetamines. Curtis was found to be in position of over 450 counterfeit pills suspected to contain fentanyl. Curtis was also found to be in possession of methamphetamines. Curtis was arrested for Second Degree Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance, Probation Violations, Fourth Degree Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance, and First-Degree Promoting Contraband. During execution of the search warrant, members of the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit assisted AST Patrol with a search of the vehicle. Digital scales and a concealed handgun were found during the search. Additional counts of Second- and Third-Degree Misconduct Involving Weapons were added to Curtis’ remand.

On 3/26/24 at 1150 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Carmichael Court in Sterling. While there, Autumn Richardson Card, 62 of Sterling, was contacted and found to have two outstanding arrest warrants for failure to report to Wildwood for remand (Original charges of Assault 4th degree, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 5th degree, and two Probation Violations. Card was transported and remanded at Wildwood with no bail.

On 03/26/2024 at 2016 hours Alaska State Troopers contacted Laura Jaser, age 56 of Anchor Point at a residence near Cottonwood Lane in Anchor Point. Jasper was arrested for an outstanding $500 arrest warrant for the original charges of MICS 5th (x4). Jasper was remanded to the Homer Jail on her warrant.

On 3/26/2024, AST responded to a residence on Fetlock Dr in Wasilla for a report of a physical disturbance between two household members. Troopers arrived on scene and observed visible injuries to both individuals involved. Consistent stories from all sides later revealed that Teddy Fortenberry, age 42 of Wasilla, was likely the primary aggressor who turned the verbal disturbance physical. Upon conclusion of the investigation, Teddy was arrested for one count of DV Assault 4. Teddy was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

On 03/25/2024 at approximately 1922 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to NB Parks Hwy near Hyer for a report of a vehicle vs. moose. No injuries were reported but the vehicle involved sustained major damage. A lane of the roadway was closed for a brief time so DOT could respond to clean the debris from the roadway.

On March 24, 2024, at 6:56pm, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an active shooter in the village of Kotlik. It was reported that a 17-year-old male juvenile was firing shots at an occupied residence and that rounds came through the front door striking an interior wall. It was further reported that two dogs were killed at the residence by the juvenile shooter. Alaska State Troopers were able to make contact with the juvenile by cell phone subsequently getting him to lay down the gun. After laying down the gun he fled on a four-wheeler. Responding troopers from Emmonak and Bethel located the juvenile at approximately 10:00pm and he was taken into custody. Charges of Terroristic Threatening in the second degree, Misconduct Involving Weapons in the second degree, Assault in the third degree, and Cruelty to Animals have been sent to DJJ in Bethel. This investigation is ongoing and will likely result in additional charges.

On 03/26/2024 at approximately 0842 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on a blue 1999 Chevy s10 bearing no plate near the intersection of Old Steese Hwy and Farmers Loop Road. The Driver was identified as Ivan Kious (44) of Fairbanks. Ivan had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. (4FA-23-01160CR) Additionally, Ivan was operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license. Ivan was arrested without incident and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
